What are the specialties of this talent?
Joey is an allround M&A tax advisor who supports his clients with all aspects from a tax perspective throughout the deal cycle (due diligence, structuring, management participation, post deal implementation etc)

How does the talent distinguish itself from its peers?
All his peers are great (both at PwC and outside).

I guess what distinguishes or differentiates him is the fact that Joey is allround and in all aspects a strong allrounder. Examples include:

  • He can adapt to the needs of his clients and the specifics of a proces.
  • Tax technical strong and continues to invest in his skills
  • He is a marathon runner and sprinter, knows when to accelerate, when to take a step back and subsequently timely move forward to support and manage all stakeholders
  • He has proven to be one of our best coach and trainers on the job, i.e. lead by example, takes responsibility for the work delivered, challenges less experienced colleagues to consider a different perspective, brings tons of energy etc

What impact does the talent have within the organization?
Joey is element to the sustainable growth of our business:

  • his talents (under 5 above) is noticed by clients and colleagues. He is asked for.
  • he is key to the development of younger talent
  • his energy is contagious
  • driver in our ambition to use technology (ai, interactive reporting tools) again leading by example.

What impact does the talent have outside the organization?
In addition to his work, his family and friends, joey is a talented waterpolo player. With the promotion last year, as of Sep 2024 his team now plays in the highest division. This also means 4 times training during the week in addition to matches in the weekend. Combining this with work can be challenging but joey clearly shows to clients, colleagues and other outside that a successful career in M&A and top sports can go together (but also M&A and family, M&A and any other hobby etc etc). In other words you can pursue your dreams in addition to your professional career (in M&A).

To what extent does the talent makes the difference to clients?
He consistently exceeds expectations of our clients and does his utmost tax is considered appropriately (not too much, not too little) in a transaction. He is reliable, fun to work with and delivers high quality work.

Why does the talent deserves this nomination?
The aforementioned should hopefully clearly highlight his talents.

I believe Joey deserves this nomination as he is the person that never asks, mostly gives, is modest and never takes credit. As such he deserves to be in the spotlight for once and hopefully even more clearly feels that we as pwc, his colleagues and his clients very much appreciate him as person, as colleague and as talented young M&A Advisor.
