What are the specialties of this talent?
Jasper joined DLA Piper as a junior associate in September 2018 and is currently a senior associate in the Corporate M&A team. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in corporate law from Utrecht University, graduating cum laude in 2017, after obtaining his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the same university in 2015. In 2023, Jasper gained international experience through a secondment to DLA Piper’s London office. He currently participates in the post-graduate corporate law course at the Grotius Academy.      

Jasper specialises in corporate law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance advice. He leads complex domestic and cross-border transactions, acting as trusted adviser to both national and international clients. His experience covers a wide range of corporate transactions, including private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, and strategic corporate transactions. He has developed particular expertise in advising private equity firms on platform acquisitions and exits, as well on matters throughout the entire lifecycle of their portfolio companies. Jasper also frequently advises large corporates on transformative strategic corporate transactions.     

Jasper’s recent M&A experience (2024/2025) includes advising:   

• Apheon and TMC, a leading international provider of engineering consultancy services specialising in technological engineering, on the sale of TMC to Apheon’s new continuation fund with a minority investment by MML Capital Partners and reinvestment by certain founders and management. He subsequently advised TMC on its add-on acquisitions in various jurisdictions.   
• NCC Group Plc (LSE:NCC), a global cyber security and software resilience business, on two cross-border M&A transactions, including the divestment of Fox Crypto, a developer of high assurance cryptographic products to secure and contain sensitive information, to CR Group. As part of this transaction, he successfully navigated the client through the complex regulatory approval processes in various jurisdictions safeguarding national security interests.   
• Global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) and HSO, a leading global Microsoft services partner, on the sale of HSO to Bain Capital.    
• EMK Capital on its investment in VDK Groep, a group of technical installation and maintenance companies, and the subsequent execution of its buy-and-build strategy in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany since 2020.   
• Ballast Nedam, a Dutch construction company, on various transactions since 2021, including the acquisition of Hurks Groep.   
• Consolid Equity on the formation of Svalner Atlas Advisors, a leading independent advisory firm.   
• Eiffage, through its subsidiary Smulders, on the acquisition of HSM Offshore Energy, an integrated solution provider in engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning, from ANDUS Group, a portfolio company of Gilde Equity Management.
